ACCESSORY RAILS

SMAI (Scope Mount Accessory Interface) rails are designed to attach directly to a monoblock mount or rings equipped with this interface, allowing the addition of accessories without altering the position of the primary optic. Precision-machined, they provide a stable, perfectly aligned base for installing a secondary sight, rangefinder, ballistic module, or any other compatible device. Their modular design allows adjustment of rail length, orientation, and placement to suit shooting needs and firearm ergonomics, while ensuring rigidity and reliability.

Installing an SMAI rail begins by positioning it on the dedicated surface of the mount, ensuring all contact surfaces are clean and free of debris. The rail is secured using calibrated screws tightened to the manufacturer’s torque specifications to maintain alignment and avoid mechanical stress. Accessories are then mounted onto this secondary rail just as they would be on a standard Picatinny interface, with periodic torque checks to ensure stability. This setup enables integration of additional systems while maintaining the original sighting configuration and without disturbing the established zero.

A high-quality SMAI rail should be machined from durable materials such as aerospace-grade aluminum or treated steel, with anodized or anti-corrosion finishes to withstand wear and environmental exposure. Dimensions and tolerances must strictly follow Picatinny standards to ensure full compatibility with all standardized accessories. Structural rigidity should eliminate any flex or play that could affect accuracy. Finally, modularity, repeatable mounting, and the ability to maintain zero after removal are key criteria for demanding use.
