Cleaning Foam is the chemical bore and internal cleaner in the WELLGUN system. It is used after Cleaning Degreaser (which removes oils and loose contamination) and before lubrication with Oil & Grease in the five-step WELLGUN maintenance sequence.
In practice:
When to use it
After applying Cleaning Degreaser to strip oils and loose fouling, typically right after shooting or during a full maintenance session. The foam then takes over to work on embedded carbon and combustion residues.Where to use it
Mainly bore and chamber, and any internal cavities where an expanding foam can reach. The product is described as safe on common gun surfaces and biodegradable, but its primary role is inside the firearm, on metallic internal parts. How to apply
Confirm the firearm is unloaded and has been pre-treated with Cleaning Degreaser.
Insert the nozzle through the chamber (or carefully from the muzzle with proper protection) and inject foam until the bore and targeted areas are filled.
Allow the foam to expand and react: the chemical action breaks down fouling created by firing.
Push out the foam and dissolved dirt using the appropriate tools (brush, bore mop, patches, cloth) until patches come out clean.
Let the surface finish drying/evaporating; Cleaning Foam leaves the metal degreased and corrosion-inhibited, not oily.
Follow up with WELLGUN Oil & Grease on the bore (very thin film) and on friction-exposed metal parts.
Expected effect
A chemically clean bore, including hard-to-reach sections where mechanical tools alone struggle, with a dry, protected surface ready for controlled lubrication. This is the WELLGUN product designed for regular, repeatable bore cleaning between shooting sessions.
